Behind the Hear Our Heart Ear Bus Project

2 passionate women! Colleen Bruce and Rowena Galway

The project started in 2011 when 2 passionate Dubbo women joined forces with the Dubbo and District Support Group for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired to help improve Ear Health Services for children in Western NSW. Rowena has 6 children, 4 of which have had on-going and sometimes dangerous Otitis Media conditions. Most of the woman in the Dubbo and District Support Group for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired have children with Otitis Media conditions and were very keen to join with the Hear our Heart Ear Bus Project Committee to help others.

The Hear our Heart Ear Bus Project is a fund raising initiative created in conjunction with the Dubbo & District Support Group for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired Inc.
This group was formed in 1997 by parents, community members and teachers.
